The Samara

The Samara

The Samara Villas is the best choice in Ubud in terms of location as it is completely surrounded by ricefields, which are unfortunately no more visible in Ubud's city center

Ideally located in the middle of lush green rice fields surrounding the property on all sides, The Samara is a small and peaceful corner of Paradise located in the center of Bali - the Island of the Gods.

Only 900 meters away from Ubud center, The Samara lies on one of the most famous rice field terraces of Ubud, Juwuk Manis along Jalan Kajeng.

This location is featured in all guide books as a must do walk, as well as the Campuhan Ridge walk which is only one km away.

The Samara lies along a narrow alley where cars are not allowed, therefore enjoying pure air in a quiet setting and rural scenery.

Jalan Kajeng is in fact a typical Balinese road that stretches through local house compounds and traditional cafes, before becoming a narrow path through the rice paddies, where The Samara sits since July 2011 in maximum harmony with the surrounding environment.

Forget the noise, forget the pollution, forget the stress, and immerse yourself in total relaxation. Every day you will wake up by the sound of the frogs, of the ducks, and of the birds that populate the nature around you. Pull your room curtains and let your eyes wander and get lost in the rice fields. Have a shower in the semi-outdoor area of your bathroom and sense the smell of the morning in a real Balinese setting, while looking at the palm trees around you.
Climb the few stairs to our restaurant and order a freshly prepared breakfast from our à la carte menu, while sipping on a coffee sitting at a table overlooking the fields.

Have a walk along Jalan Kajeng and through the paddies, discover Ubud and its history and nature, talk to locals, buy a fresh coconut from Nyoman, then come back for a private in-room massage, followed by a complimentary tea served by our infinity pool, and plunge into serenity, once again. Have a bite of a complimentary freshly cut fruit skewer, and enjoy the last view over the Agung Volcano, before the sun sets and the fireflies start visiting the rice fields and your room porch.

Finally, a candle lit dinner to close the day, paired with a glass of Italian red wine and the sound of the sleeping nature that prepares the mind to sleeping, in your air-conditioned room, where your bed has been already prepared for the night by our careful staff.

Tomorrow – repeat all of the above.

The locals call this area Juwuk Manis – Sweet Orange. No wonder.

That’s why we can truly say that at The Samara we have “the sweetest view in Ubud”.

The Samara opened to public with six rooms. Now two villas have been added, a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom, each with their own private pool.
